SAMCA will be hosting the 19th Edition of the Classic Adelaide Masters Series (CAMS) starting Saturday 14th January 2018.
This year the event is timed to preceed the TDU in Adelaide to allow participans to then follow the tour at their leisure. It has evolved over the years to provide many locals and travellers the opportunity to enhance their experience of the TDU by participating in some of the best Veterans racing Adelaide has to offer.
This year AVCC members can look forward to 3 great events as the hill climb has been dropped from the series:
Saturday 13th Jan - The first event is the criterium race (Grades A-F depending on numbers) at Victtoria Park, hosted by the VLCC. This will be held on Saturday morning.
Sunday 14th Jan - The Road Race (Grades A-F depending on numbers) hosted by the SDVLCC will feature the McLaren Vale wine region in all its splendour. The course selected is the same as last year. It has some climbing, but no mountains but remains nevertheless challenging. The descents are smooth and safe, and plenty of flat riding on quiet roads.
Mon 15th Jan - The ITT remains in the area with a ride out to Kangarilla and back.
There will be 5 year age groups and Age groups & Top 10 age adjusted
The distance is 20 kms
Great prize money is on offer, along with the chance of meeting and making new friends in the AVCC network.
And of course, the overall trophy to the rider who wins the most points
Each event will cost $25. Enter all 3 by 1st December for $60. Transponders will be available for hire at $5 per event and can be pre-purchased at registration.
Entries close 31st December
More details will be posted on this website shortly, and will be updated as the event approaches.
This event is one of the premier events on the cycling calendar so be part of it.
